Toei Animation’s Monkey King CG-Animated Film Will Be Helmed By Jimmy Neutron’s John A. Davis

Toei Animation is not just focusing on continuing their Dragon Ball universe with the upcoming Dragon Ball Super Broly film. During a press conference on Wednesday, Toei Animation, Sammy, Sola Entertainment, & Marza Animation Planet announced that they will be teaming up to bring a Monkey King CG-animated film to the big screen!

It was revealed that John A. Davis, director of the 2001 Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius CG-animated movie will be helming the Monkey King movie & Naoto Oshima, designer of the Sonic the Hedgehog game will be drafting the story & drawing the original character designs. Shrek 2’s screenplay writers J. David Stem & David N. Weiss are signed on to write the script.

As of now there is no release date set for the film, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
