Sean Marshall Before the Disney Plus Daredevil: Born Again series goes into production this year, a huge cast announcement was revealed today that will settle down the fans hoping a fan favorite will enter the new direction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming Daredevil series.
Daredevil: Born Again is rooted in Frank Miller’s 1986 comic series. The comic centered on Karen Page, Matt Murdock’s former lover, trading away the Man Without Fear’s secret identity for a drug fix. Now, Daredevil must find strength as the Kingpin of Crime wastes no time taking him down as low as a human can get.
This won’t be the first time Punisher appeared in the Daredevil series. He went toe-to-toe with Daredevil in the season 2 Daredevil Netflix series.
So far, the cast for Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox, who is reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin), and Jon Bernthal. Filming for the series began this month, and it’s scheduled to release in early 2024.
