Jonathan Majors Joins Marvel’s Ant-Man 3

Marvel has been silent about their upcoming films, but they are finally breaking the silence with a significant update about their next Ant-Man film. Marvel announced today that they are bringing rising star Johnathan Majors into the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Ant-Man 3. We don’t know much about the role Majors will be playing, but sources close to the upcoming film are saying that Majors will be playing Kang the Conqueror.

Kang the Conqueror has been a villain that most fans have been looking forward to seeing in the MCU; however, as most villains in the MCU, this version of Kang might have a few twists that will make him different from his familiar comic book run. For those of you that don’t know Kang the Conqueror is a time-traveling entity that has thrown down with the Avengers, Spider-Man & many more. Kang akaNathaniel Richards is a 31st-century scholar and possible descendant of Reed Richards, becomes fascinated with history and discovers the time travel technology created by Victor von Doom. Richards then travels back in time to ancient Egypt aboard a Sphinx-shaped timeship and becomes the Pharaoh Rama-Tut, with plans to claim En Sabah Nur—the mutant destined to become Apocalypse—as his heir. If it turns out that Makors is playing Kang, this might be the MCU’s way of ushering in the Fantastic Four.

Jonathan Majors is riding high off of HBO’s Lovercraft Country & Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods & it’s great to see that he’s joining the MCU! Ant-Man 3 is scheduled to start shooting next year for a 2022 release.
