Warner Bros. Pictures & DC have been in the frying pan ever since 2017’s Justice League film hit the theaters & flopped in the eyes of some fans. The film left fans divided between Zack Snyder’s cut of the film & Joss Whedon’s cut of the film, but we were looking forward to seeing if Whedon would redeem himself in the Batgirl film he & WB had up their sleeves. However, it looks like Whedon’s mark on the DC Cinematic Universe will forever remain in the shadows of Justice League.
The Hollywood Reporter rocked the comic book community when they announced that Whedon is leaving the Batgirl film!
Whedon said:
“Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn’t have a story. I’m grateful to Geoff and Toby and everyone who was so welcoming when I arrived, and so understanding when I…uh, is there a sexier word for ‘failed?'”
This is definitely shocking & may leave a sour taste in the mouth of fans, because of the shake-ups going on at WB & DC between upcoming movies, directors & cast. What do you think about this?
