Kristen Wiig front runner to play Cheetah in Wonder Woman Sequel

Wonder Woman’s success in the summer of 2017 was a highlight in the bleak world of the DCEU. Fans couldn’t help but speculate the next villian to go toe to toe with Diana in the inevitable sequel. Some say the sorceress Circe would be next or even the nameless child of Zeus’ First Born with his brutality and power could be formidable physically against Wonder Woman. But another character fans have declared next would be her most well known foe Cheetah.

Deadline has reported that a surprise front runner to play Wonder Woman nemises Cheetah for the planned sequel is Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids). The comedic actress last appeared in 2017’s Downsizing.

One of the main players in Wonder Woman’s rogues gallery, Cheetah first appeared in 1943’s Wonder Woman #6 comic. Cheetah is armed with the physical appearance of said feline and super human strength and speed granted by Urzkartaga, a plant god.

Wonder Woman 2 is set to release in theaters November 1 2019. Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and director Patty Jenkins returns to direct after the success of Wonder Woman won over fans and critics and earning a whopping $821 million dollars in the world wide box office.
