Netflix’s ‘Exception’ Anime Series Gets Trailer and Cast Reveal

Netflix has released the first trailer for the new anime series, Exception. The anime is set to debut worldwide on October 13 and is an adaptation of the new story by novelist and director Hirotaka Adachi, who will also write the script for the anime. Final Fantasy’s Yoshitaka Amano will be handling the character designs for the series. 

Ryuichi Sakamoto will serve as the composer for the series. Yūzō Satō will serve as the director, and the anime will be produced under 5 Inc and Bakken Record. Yoshitaka Amano will helm the character design. The cast members are Atsumi Tanezaki (Patty), Yuko Kaida(Nina), Chikahiro Kobayashi (Lewis), Takanori Hoshiro (Oscar), and Takahiro Sakurai (Mac). Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Appleseed) is composing the score for the anime. The series will also be produced by Bakken Record5 Inc..

Netflix describes the shows as follows: In the far future, humanity has been driven from Earth and forced to move its population to another galaxy. Members of a scouting team are sent to search for a planet suitable for terraforming. The crew is created through a biological 3D printer, but a system malfunction causes one of the crew members, Lewis, to emerge in a deformed state. As Lewis turns on his fellow crew members Nina, Mack, Patty and Oscar, a countdown to the end of the mission begins in the frightening darkness of the ship.
