New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Will Land On Netflix

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are still pushing strong on the small screen & has high hopes of reaching the big screen again with Paramount Pictures’ reboot of the recent Michael Bay live-action films. Paramount Pictures did plan on continuing the live-action films into a trilogy but the lack of turnover in the box office caused the studio to rethink their plans.

According to Deadline, a Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is being developed for Netflix! Although the film does have the same name of the Nickelodeon animated series, Nickelodeon Studios promises that the film will not be connected to their animated series.

Viacom CEO Bob Bakish had this to say:

“This partnership with Netflix is part of Nickelodeon and Viacom’s broader efforts to tap into Nickelodeon’s library of culturally resonant properties and produce new content for third-party digital and linear platforms.”

No release date for the film was revealed.
