The First Omen: The Omen Prequel Lands Nell Tiger Free as Its Lead

Game of Thrones & Apple TV+’s Servant actress Nell Tiger Free will be joining 20th Century’s The First Omen, which will be the prequel to 1976’s The Omen, according to Deadline. The First Omen will be Free’s first major film, but this will be her second time tackling the horror genre after her run on Apple’s Servant.

The film will be helmed by Arkasha Stevenson, who will make her feature directorial debut. Stevenson will write the script with Tim Smith, who will also executive produce. Davis S. Goyer & Keith Levin will produce the film via Phantom Four.

No story details have been revealed outside of the fact that this is a prequel to 1976’s The Omen film.

The Omen is a 1976 supernatural horror film that was directed by Richard Donner & written by David Seltzer. The film followed Damien Thorn, a young child replaced at birth by his father, unbeknownst to his wife, after their biological child dies shortly after birth. As a series of mysterious events and violent deaths occur around the family and Damien enters childhood, they come to learn he is, in fact, the prophesied Antichrist.

The Omen gave birth to three other films, including Damien: Omen II, Omen III: The Final Conflict & Omen IV: The Awakening. 20th Century Fox later pushed the remake of the original film in 2006.
